Ingredients
- 1 pound Manila clams, cleaned and scrubbed
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup shallots, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup red peppers, finely chopped
- 1 clove (large) garlic, pressed or chopped
- freshly ground mixed peppercorns, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon dried tarragon
- 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or to taste
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1/2 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
- 4 lemon wedges, for serving
How To Make garlic and white wine steamed clams

Step 1In a large pot over medium heat, add butter and oil. When hot, add shallots and red peppers; sauté for 1 minute.

Step 2Add garlic, tarragon, and pepper flakes; sauté for 1 minute.

Step 3Pour in white wine and bring to a simmer before adding prepared clams. Stir well, cover, and steam for 5 to 7 minutes or until fully opened.

Step 4Pour in lemon juice and add parsley; stir well.

Step 5Discard unopened clams. Serve immediately with crusty or garlic bread.
