I make this every year for a work party. A double batch is gone before everyone gets through the line and a quadruple batch didn't last long either. The stuffing works great as a spread for crackers (in case you have those who are allergic or just don't like mushrooms).

1 pkg
(7 oz) crab & shrimp shredded style (just plain crab meat will work also)
green onions chopped finely
1/4 c
real bacon pieces
1 Tbsp
italian seasoning
1 tsp
1 tsp
1 c
shredded parm cheese
2 Tbsp
minced garlic
1 pkg
cream cheese (8 oz)
32 oz
white button mushrooms - medium size (no bigger than golf ball size)
1/2 c
stick butter
1 pkg
shredded mozerella cheese


1Mix first 7 ingredients so that all is well coated with spices

Add 1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese (room temp)

Mix well.
Remove stem and spore area from mushrooms and clean.
Stuff mushrooms level and top with your choice of cheese. (I have used shredded parm and an italian blend)
This will stuff ABOUT TWO 16 oz packages of the button mushrooms.

Place in baking dish / cookie sheet and dice butter between mushrooms here and there.

I bake at 350. About 10 minutes if on a cookie sheet or up to 20 minutes if the sides are deeper (like a baking dish).
