  • 2 1/2 ounces whole butter ,clarified
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped shallots
  • 3 tablespoons diced red bell peppers
  • 3 tablespoons diced yellow bell peppers
  • 3 tablespoons diced green bell peppers
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh oregano
  • 12 ounces jumbo lump crab meat
  • 2 teaspoons french's mustard
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • - pinch of salt
  • - pinch of creole seasoning
  • 1 - egg
  • 5 ounces plain bread crumbs

How To Make crab cakes

  • Step 1
    CLARIFY BUTTER ON LOW HEAT IN A SKILLET
  • Step 2
    COMBINE IN A BOWL REST OF INGREDIENTS (EXCEPT) CRAB MEAT
  • Step 3
    CAREFULLY FOLD IN CRAB MEAT,TAKING CARE TO KEEP LARGE CHUNKS INTACT
  • Step 4
    PREPARE 2 OZ. PORTIONS IN A PATTY SHAPE
  • Step 5
    PLACE CRAB CAKES IN HEATED AND BUTTERED SKILLET. BROWN BOTH SIDES OVER HIGH HEAT FOR 2 MINS. PER SIDE
