This is easy to make, relatively inexpensive, and a crowd pleaser. Great appetizer for all ages to make and eat.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups kkraft shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1- 8oz packages philadelphia, cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 medium red pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped, (purple or white, cooks choice)
  • 1-6oz can canned crabmeat,drained & flaked or fresh if avalible
  • 1 box original wheat thins
  • 1 1/8 boxes triscuit crackers

How To Make cheesy hot crab & red pepper spread

  • Step 1
    Pre-heat oven to 375 Degrees. Remove 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese; cover and refrigerate until ready to use. Mix all remaining ingredients, {except crackers} until well blended. Spread into 9-inch pie plate.
  • Step 2
    Bake 20 minutes or until crab mixture is heated through and top is lightly browned. Sprinkle with reserved 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired. Serve hot with the crackers.
