Use this rich, creamy, cheesy shrimp to top grilled steak, chicken, fish or pork. It's even great on rice and pasta. Can be used to top a simple crusty toasted bread for a decadent appetizer.

Ingredients

4 Tbsp
butter
4 Tbsp
flour
1 lb
shrimp: peeled, deveined and chopped
1 c
half and half
1 c
chicken stock
2 Tbsp
cajun, creole or blackening seasoning
1 c
shredded cracker barrel white extra sharp cheese
extra butter to saute shrimp

Step-By-Step

1In a 2 QT sauce pan, melt butter, whisk in flour. Cook to a golden blonde color.

Increase heat, whisk in stock and half&half.

Simmer until thickened, adding in cheese at the very end until melted and smooth.
2In a saute pan, saute shrimp in butter adding in cajun seasonings. Cook through.

add entire shrimp mixture to cheese sauce.
3Serve over meats, fish, pastas, rice, crusty bread, even as a stuffing for zucchini, eggplant or peppers.
