Ingredients

  • 2 lb
    unpeeled, large raw shrimp
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/2
    sweet onion, diced
  • 1 Tbsp
    chopped fresh basil or 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 Tbsp
    chopped fresh oregano or 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1
    bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground red pepper
  • 1 clove
    garlic

How to Make Cajun Shrimp

Step-by-Step

  1. Peel shrimp and devein.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium high heat; add onion and next 5 ingredients, and saute for 5 minutes or until onions are tender. Stir in garlic and saute for about 1 more minute.
  3. Stir in shrimp, and cook, stirring occasionally, about 6 minutes or just until shrimp turns pink, WATCH CAREFULLY!! Remove and discard bay leaf.
