Quick and easy. Can add heat by increasing the cayenne pepper.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds unpeeled, large raw shrimp
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 - sweet onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil or 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano or 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 1 clove garlic

How To Make cajun shrimp

  • Step 1
    Peel shrimp and devein.
  • Step 2
    Melt butter in a large skillet over medium high heat; add onion and next 5 ingredients, and saute for 5 minutes or until onions are tender. Stir in garlic and saute for about 1 more minute.
  • Step 3
    Stir in shrimp, and cook, stirring occasionally, about 6 minutes or just until shrimp turns pink, WATCH CAREFULLY!! Remove and discard bay leaf.
