Ingredients

  • 10 oz
    broccoli spears, frozen
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 c
    mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tsp
    onion, grated
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 c
    sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • ·
    paprika

How to Make Broccoli-Mushroom Scallop

Step-by-Step

  1. Defrost frozen broccoli and place in a shallow, 9-inch, heat-resistant, non-metallic baking dish.
  2. In a small, heat-resistant, non-metallic bowl, combine butter, mushrooms and onion.
  3. Heat, uncovered, in microwave oven 3 minutes and stir occasionally.
  4. Blend flour and seasonings into butter-mushroom mixture.
  5. Heat, uncovered, in microwave oven 3 minutes, stirring after 1 1/2 minutes.
  6. Gradually add milk, stirring until mixture is smooth.
  7. Heat, uncovered, in microwave oven 3 minutes and stir every minute.
  8. Pour hot mushroom sauce over cooked broccoli.
  9. Sprinkle with 1 cup cheese and paprika.
  10. Heat, uncovered, 4 to 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
