I love to heat up the flavor with red pepper flakes

Ingredients

  • 36 - mussels
  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • 4 tablespoons graded cheese
  • 1/2 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • - salt and red pepper and black pepper to taste

How To Make baked mussels

  • Step 1
    Scrub mussels and pull off beads..( or use frozen cleaned mussels)
  • Step 2
    Prepare fry pan with tight lid. Add 3 to 4 tablespoons of olive oil 1/3 cup water, salt, pepper .Cover pan , let mussels steam till open . Remove mussels and cool. DO NOT USE UNOPENED MUSSELS
  • Step 3
    Remove mussels and place one on each 1/2shell discard other half of shell
  • Step 4
    Cover mussel with prepared stuffing and 1 Tbsp. of crushed tomatoes Sprinkle with chopped parsley .Drizzle with olive oil and remaining liquid from fry pan
  • Step 5
    Bake 400 degrees until golden brown about 12 to 15 min.
