Ingredients
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 tablespoons gresh ginger, grated or finely minced
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 3-4 pounds chicken wings, tips cut off
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- sesame seeds, for garnish
- thinly sliced green onions, for garnish
How To Make teriyaki wings
-
Step 1Put the first four ingredients in a small saucepan. Add 1/4 cup water. Bring to a boil and whisk until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and set aside to cool a little. Add the sesame oil.
-
Step 2Put the chicken wings in a large ziploc bag and add the marinade. Zip the bag and massage the marinade into the wings to coat completely. Refrigerate for at 1-4 hours, massaging occasionally.
-
Step 3Remove the wings from the bag and sprinkle with the 2 tablespoons sesame seeds. Place the marinade in a saucepan and bring it to a boil for a full minute. Set aside.
-
Step 4Grill the wings over medium heat, turning and basting with the cooked marinade, until they're done. This will take about 15-17 minutes.
-
Step 5When done, remove to a serving platter and sprinkle with a few more sesame seeds and the sliced green onion tops.
