Ingredients

  • MARINADE
  • 3 pounds chicken wings, flats only, cut each flat in half
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 cups maple syrup, more for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon chili crisp, use the oil for drizzling
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • DREDGE
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • salt and pepper
  • GARNISH
  • 12 slices bacon, cooked until crisp
  • 1 cup sugar

How To Make maple bacon chicken wings

  • Step 1
    Mix the buttermilk, maple syrup, chili crisp, and salt together. Add the wings and let them marinate in the fridge for 2 hours.
  • Step 2
    Place peanut oil in a deep fryer or large pot. Bring to 350 degrees. Mix the flour and salt. Once the oil is hot, remove the wings from the marinade.
  • Step 3
    Dredge in the flour and add to the hot oil. Cook in batches until browned and crispy. Place the cooked ones in a big bowl.
  • Step 4
    Crumble the bacon and mix with sugar.
  • Step 5
    Once all the wings are cooked, add the bacon sugar and mix well. Drizzle more maple syrup and chili oil over the wings and enjoy.
