Ingredients

  • 3 pounds chicken wings, wing tips removed and cut at joint
  • salt and pepper
  • peanut oil for deep frying
  • 1 cup French's french fried onions place in a baggie and crushed with a rolling pin.
  • SAUCE
  • 1 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup pomegranate molasses
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons chili crisp

How To Make crunchy onion wings

  • Step 1
    Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay the chicken wing out on the parchment paper and season with salt and pepper. Let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  • Step 2
    While the wings are coming to room temperature make the sauce. Place all the ingredients for the sauce together in a saucepan. Cook over medium low heat for 20 minutes. Set aside.
  • Step 3
    Get the peanut oil to 350 degrees. Working in batches, cook the chicken wings until done, about 5 to 7 minutes depending on their size.
  • Step 4
    Place the French-fried onions on a plate. Dip the wings in the sauce, then roll in the crunchy onions.
