It's tasty, crunchy from bell pepper, mild from pickled jalapeno and good flavor of tomato, balsamic and basil. Party in you mouth!

Ingredients

  • 4 slices italian bread
  • 1 - tomato, seeds removed and diced
  • ½ - green bell pepper, diced
  • 4 slices thin sliced smoked ham
  • 1 tablespoon chopped pickled jalapeno
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons pasteurized egg white (or ½ egg white). beaten
  • 4 - 5 - freshly basil leaves, chopped
  • 1 - scallion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, room temperature, for spreading 4 slices of bread
  • ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese or less, for topping

How To Make smoked ham bruschetta

  • Step 1
    Preheat the oven to 350°F and place the rack in the middle.
  • Step 2
    On a baking sheet with parchment paper, place 4 slices of bread and spread the top side of each bread with butter.
  • Step 3
    In a medium bowl, mix tomato, bell pepper, smoked ham, pickled jalapeno, mayo, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and basil. Then add beaten egg white and garlic powder, mix until well combined. Divide into 4 equal portions.
  • Step 4
    Place each portion of mixture on top of each slice of bread. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Step 5
    Bake them for 10 minutes, take out and sprinkle with chopped scallion. Serve immediately.
  • Alternative for serving
    Step 6
    Alternative to serve this bruschetta: -Roll up each sliced ham and make a pinwheel shape, instead of mixing with other ingredients. -Place roll up ham on top of veggies mixture and add julienne cutting mozzarella cheese.
