This is from the Best of Louisianna cookbook. I made this as a appetizer for a Christmas dinner at my daughters. My grandkids who don't care for spinach loved this. I modified recipe and used pre made french bread loafs from store and spread the mixture on top and baked it. Really good.

french bread loaves
2 pkg
10 0z each frozen chopped spinach
2 Lbs
hot pork sausage
4 Tbs
chopped onion
20 oz
grated mozzarrella cheese
1 c
grated parmassen cheese

How to Make Sausage Spinach Bread


  • 1Cook spinach according to package directions. Drain well. Set aside. Brown sausage and drain off fat. Add Oinion and cook till onions are soft. Pre heat oven to 375 degrees.
  • 2Beat eggs. Add the drained spinach.Mix in sausage onion mixture and parmassen cheese and mix in food processor.
  • 3Cut 2 loafs of french bread in half length wise and spread with sausage mixture and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake 20 minutes or until browned.
    Cool slightly and cut into slices 1 1/2 to 2 inches wide.
