I love mushrooms, and this is one of the only ways I can convince my mushroom-disliking family to eat them. Serve with an assortment of crackers.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purposed flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, cubed and softened
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

How To Make mushroom dip

  • Step 1
Cook the bacon in a large skillet until crisp; remove bacon, reserving 1 tablespoon drippings in the skillet. Crumble the bacon and set aside.
  • Step 2
Sauté the mushrooms, onion, and garlic in the drippings for 6 to 8 minutes or until the vegetables are tender and the mixture is almost dry.
  • Step 3
Add the flour, salt, and pepper, stirring well. Add the cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce; reduce heat, and cook, stirring constantly, until the cheese melts.
  • Step 4
Remove from heat. Stir in the sour cream and reserved bacon.
  • Step 5
Serve warm with an assortment of crackers.
