A friend shared this recipe with me, and it's a wonderful treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 small can mushrooms, chopped
  • 3/4 cup french's fried onions, crushed
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1 - loaf of pumpernickel bread

How To Make mushroom canape appetizers

  • Step 1
    Lightly toast both sides of bread. Then cut bread into "appetizer" size pieces. You can use cookie cutters to make different shapes if you'd like.
  • Step 2
    Mix all other ingredients together, reserving about 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese.
  • Step 3
    Place a spoonful of mixture on top of toasted bread, sprinkle more cheese, and broil until bubbly. Serve and enjoy!
