I went online to find a chex mix recipe to use as favors for a luncheon we were having. This is so awesome...you will not be able to stop eating it.

1/2 c

worcestershire sauce
1 tsp
garlic powder
1/2 tsp
onion powder
1/2 tsp
celery salt
1/4 tsp
ground sage
1/2 tsp
lawry's seasoned salt
2 c
dry roasted peanuts
1 c
cashew pieces
2 c
5 c
corn chex
3 c
rice chex
1 c
wheat chex
2 c
cheerios toasted oat cereal

How to Make Julia's Extra Special Holiday Chex Mix


  • 1Fry bacon until it's nice and crisp. 1 lb. of bacon will yield between 1/3 to 1/2 c of drippings. It depends on the bacon you use.
  • 2Place cooked bacon in a container and reserve it for another use. It's the leftover drippings you're after.
  • 3Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
  • 4Melt the butter and bacon drippings together in a saucepan, then stir in the seasonings to make a nice, buttery mix.
  • 5In a large bowl, combine all the remaining ingredients and gradually stir in the buttery seasoning mix until the dry ingredients are evenly coated.
  • 6Spread on a cookie sheet and bake for 1 hr, turning every 15 minutes. Spread on paper towel to cool.
