Blue Ribbon Recipe

What's better than a deviled egg? How about a deep-fried deviled egg?! This appetizer will blow the minds of our family and friends. Bacon is wrapped around the deviled egg that's stuffed with a spicy, creamy filling. Everything is deep-fried until crispy. When you bite into the deviled egg, there are different textures - crispy, crunchy, and creamy. The chipotle dipping sauce puts these eggs over the top. Make sure to serve these while still warm. How to Make Deep Fried Deviled Eggs

Step-by-Step

  1. Cut boiled eggs length wise in circular motion without cutting boiled yolks then remove.
  2. Mix boiled yolks with all ingredients (remove 2 Tbsp of blended chipotle peppers in Adobo sauce for the ranch dressing) until a smooth consistency.
  3. Fill egg whites with yolk mixture.
  4. Wrap the deviled egg with sliced bacon and set aside.
  5. For Batter: Mix dry ingredients together.
  6. Add water and then beer mixing well so that there are no lumps and smooth consistency.
  7. Heat 1 quart of canola oil to 350 degrees. Lightly dredge deviled egg in flour shaking off excess flour.
  8. Dip egg in the batter mix.
  9. Then gently place in the heated oil. Repeat until all eggs are coated and cooked. You'll want to occasionally give the batter a stir during the batter and frying process.
  10. Cook for 4 minutes in oil until golden brown.
  11. For chipotle ranch, add the 2 Tbsp of reserved blended chipotles to 2 cups of ranch dressings.
  12. Serve with slaw and chipotle ranch sauce for dipping.
  13. Side note: You can add as much or little of the chipotle as you like. My family tends to like them spicy so I use almost all of the can.
