I serve this at Fourth of July cookouts or any holiday get together. *** I use the La Costena or Goya chipotle peppers in Adobo Sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1(15 oz.) can chick peas(garbanzos)
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chipotle chili peppers in adobo sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

How To Make chipotle hummus

  • Step 1
    Drain the chick peas reserving 2 Tbsp. of the liquid.
  • Step 2
    Heat oil in a skillet and saute the garlic until it is tender.
  • Step 3
    Place the chick peas, garlic, tahini, lemon juice, salt, reserved liquid and chili peppers in a food processor (or blender).
  • Step 4
    Process (or blend) until smooth.
  • Step 5
    Place in a serving bowl and serve with pita chips or fresh veggies (like baby carrots, celery sticks, broccoli florets, black olives and cherry tomatoes.
