- 4 pounds beef round steak, trimmed
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
How To Make triple-pepper oven jerky

Step 1Partially freeze and then cut meat against the grain into ¼-inch thick slices. Combine remaining ingredients in a large shallow dish; add meat slices. Cover and refrigerate overnight

Step 2Place one oven rack on the lowest level and one on the highest. Line lower rack with large baking sheet or aluminum foil. Preheat oven to 300°F.

Step 3Drain meat from marinade and pat dry. Suspend meat slices on top rack using toothpicks. Bake for about 4 hours or until dry (pliable, but not brittle).
