Personally, I find it better than the store-bought one. It's cheaper too. it's on the hot side, so for those who don't like spicy food, adjust the amount of cayenne pepper

freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp
ground white pepper
1 tsp
cayenne pepper
1 tsp
five-spice powder
1 1/2 tsp
smoked paprika
1 Tbsp
onion powder
1 Tbsp
garlic powder
1 c
soy sauce
1/2 c
worcestershire sauce
1 tsp
1/4 c
brown sugar

How to Make Triple-Pepper Oven Jerky


  • 1Partially freeze and then cut meat against the grain into ¼-inch thick slices. Combine remaining ingredients in a large shallow dish; add meat slices. Cover and refrigerate overnight
  • 2Place one oven rack on the lowest level and one on the highest. Line lower rack with large baking sheet or aluminum foil. Preheat oven to 300°F.
  • 3Drain meat from marinade and pat dry. Suspend meat slices on top rack using toothpicks. Bake for about 4 hours or until dry (pliable, but not brittle).
