- 1 pound little smokies small sausages
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups brown sugar (i prefer dark brown)
How To Make texas cowboy smokies
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 375F
-
Step 2Cut the bacon into thirds and wrap each Little Smokie (small sausage). Place all the wrapped smokies in a single layer in a baking dish.
-
Step 3Then melt the stick of butter and then 1 cup of brown sugar and stir until mixed well. Pour the butter and brown sugar mixture on the smokies and bacon. Then take the other cup of brown sugar and sprinkle evenly over the smokies.
-
Step 4Bake them for about 15-20 minutes and then turn the heat up to 400 dgrees F for about 5 minutes or longer until the bacon becomes crispy.
-
Step 5Notes: I like to put them under a low broiler for 5 minutes. I have also left off the second cup of brown sugar and just drizzled a bit of honey over it. Another great and tasty way to do them is to mix the brown sugar with a bit of maple syrup and drizzle over them. If you are using them as appetizers, then secure the bacon with a toothpick and they are ready to serve.
