This is a fun appetizer, if you like olives! They really are a surprise in this recipe.

Ingredients

1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 large egg
1 pound ground beef (lean)
1/3 cup pizza sauce
1/4 cup onion (finely chopped)
36 - pimento stuffed olives (drained)
- salt and pepper

How To Make surprise meatballs

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Step 2

Mix together bread crumbs, egg, pizza sauce, onion, 1/2 teaspoon salt and a dash of pepper.
Step 3

Add beef and mix well.
Step 4

Shape 1 tablespoon meat mixture around each olive to form meatballs.
Step 5

Place in a shallow baking dish.
Step 6

Bake for 20 minutes. If desired, serve on wooden toothpicks.
