Tartare is a raw meat, this is Mom's version.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground sirloin (do not substitute for a cheaper meat)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 6 capers, rinsed and mashed
  • 3 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • dash pepper
  • 1/2 cup parsley

How To Make steak tartare, mom

  • Step 1
    Mix beef with egg yolk. Add remaining ingredients and roll in parsley. Refrigerate. Serve with crackers. Can make small marble sized balls and serve with toothpicks.
