Sausage Spice Stars

My family loves anything with spice and cheese. These little savory sausage,cheese filled stars are perfect for Christmas or really anytime.

1 lb
bulk sausage
1 small
onion, chopped fine
1 small
sweet red pepper, chopped fine
1 small
green pepper, chopped fine
1 can(s)
chopped green chilies , drained (4 oz.)
1 1/2 c
sharp shredded cheddar cheese
1 1/2 c
pepper jack shredded cheese
1 pkg
taco seasoning mix
wonton wrappers
1/3 c
miracle whip
1/3 c
thousand island dressing
sliced black olives
cherry tomatoes, cut in half


1In a skillet cook sausage, onions, and peppers. Drain off fat. Return to pan add taco seasoning as directed on package. Drain off excess juices in strainer.
2In a bowl add cooled meat, cheeses,& chilies mix well. Set aside.
3Brush both sides of wonton wrappers with oil; press into bottom and up sides of a muffin cups. Bake at 350^ for 5 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to a baking sheet. Fill each cup with 2 Tablespoons of meat mixture. Bake for 5 minutes.
4While they are baking mix miracle whip, and thousand island dressing together.
When Stars are done top with 1 tsp. sauce. place a couple black olive slices on and top with 1/2 a cherry tomato.
