sausage filled breakfast pastries
These are so simple to make, thanks to the convenience of canned biscuits. I suggest making the filling the night before, and allowing it to chill in the refrigerator overnight. You can then fill the pastries in minutes, and bake for a quick and delicious homemade "pastry" to serve family and guests.

How To Make sausage filled breakfast pastries
-
Step 1Saute the sausage in a skillet until brown and completely cooked. Drain any excess fat from the pan. Add the softened cream cheese, dijon mustard, worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, chopped chives and salt and pepper to taste. Cook the mixture for a couple of minutes just until the cheese is melted and mixed through. Place into an airtight container and chill overnight. When your ready to prepare the pastries, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cut each biscuit in half through the middle. Flatten the biscuit to a 3 inch circle and place a heaping teaspoon of the filling into the center. Fold the dough over the filling and crimp the edges with a fork or a pastry wheel. Brush the tops with the egg wash and arrange them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350 degrees for 14-15 minutes. Serve hot with additional dijon mustard on the side.
