Italian Sausage Roll
1/2 lbhot italian sausage
1/2 lbsweet italian sausage
1 clovegarlic, minced
6 oztomato paste
1/4 tspdried basil
1/4 tspdried oregano
·salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
How to Make Italian Sausage Roll
- If using sausage in links, remove casing. Cook sausage over medium heat breaking up into fine pieces. Add garlic and saute for 2 minutes more. Add tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Cook for about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- Roll dough into a rectangle, about 20 x 16 inches. Spread sausage mixture over dough. Roll up lengthwise. Make two or three 1 inch slits in the top of the dough for venting.
- Place seam side down on a greased baking sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes, or until nicely browned. If dough is getting too brown, cover with foil Serves 6.
