Ingredients
- 1/2 pound hot italian sausage
- 1/2 pound sweet italian sausage
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- - salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 - loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
How To Make italian sausage roll

Step 1If using sausage in links, remove casing. Cook sausage over medium heat breaking up into fine pieces. Add garlic and saute for 2 minutes more. Add tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Cook for about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

Step 2Roll dough into a rectangle, about 20 x 16 inches. Spread sausage mixture over dough. Roll up lengthwise. Make two or three 1 inch slits in the top of the dough for venting.

Step 3Place seam side down on a greased baking sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes, or until nicely browned. If dough is getting too brown, cover with foil Serves 6.
