homemade beef stick
I made this recipe, the first time, many years ago for a Christmas party. My husband and 13 year old daughter are both fans. I usually make it for special occasions. It also lends itself well to variations.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground chuck
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons liquid smoke flavoring
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoons morton’s tender quick
How To Make homemade beef stick

Step 1Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.

Step 2Form into 2 rolls about 1-1 1/2 inch thick. Wrap each tightly in foil.

Step 3Refrigerate for 24 hours to allow it to cure.

Step 4When ready to bake, poke holes along the bottom of foil roll to allow grease to drip out while it bakes.

Step 5Place rolls on a rack that has been placed on a foil lined cookie sheet.

Step 6Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2-2 hours.

Step 7Cool and slice thin to serve with cheese and crackers.

Step 8Variations: add chopped jalapeño and cheese etc.
