- - 16 bamboo skewers
- - 5 quarts vegetable oil
- - 1¼ lbs flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- - ¼ cup cornstarch
- - ¼ cup rice wine vinegar
- - 3 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
- - 2 tbsp sugar
- - 2 tbsp orange marmalade
- - 1 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice
- - 1 tbsp honey
- - 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- - 1 tbsp minced ginger
- - 1 tbsp orange zest.1 garlic clove, minced
How To Make crispy orange beef skewers

Step 1Preheat oil in large heavy pot over medium high heat. Toss steak with cornstarch and shake off excess; let rest 15 minutes. Make the orange glaze: Whisk vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, marmalade, juice and honey in small bowl. Heat oil in a skillet over medium high heat. Add ginger, orange zest and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, about 2 minutes or until slightly thickened. Pour soy sauce mixture into skillet and cook, stirring, 3 to 5 minutes or until slightly thickened. Thread beef onto skewers. Once oil reaches 350, carefully put skewers in pot and fry 3 to 5 minutes or until browned land crispy. Drain on paper towels. Pour orange glaze over meat and toss gently until well coated. Serve hot. Serves 4
