I've had this recipe for years and haven't made it in a very long time. But I do remember how good these are. No leftovers here!

Ingredients
- 3 pounds lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 2 medium onions, minced
- 4 teaspoons prepared horseradish
- 4 - garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 1/2 cups tomato juice
- 4 teaspoons salt
- - pepper to taste
- SAUCE:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 - onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup flour
- 3 cups beef broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 6 - ginger snaps, crumbled (optional)
- 2 teaspoons salt and pepper
How To Make cocktail meatballs

Step 1Preheat oven to 450.

Step 2Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, onions, horseradish, garlic, tomato juice, salt and pepper.

Step 3Mix well and shape into 1" balls. Place in jelly roll pan and brown in oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and drain. Set aside.

Step 4For the sauce: Melt butter in large skillet. Add the onions and saute until golden.

Step 5Blend in flour. Add beef broth, stirring until smooth.

Step 6Stir in remaining ingredients (red wine, brown sugar, ketchup, lemon juice, salt and pepper, and ginger snaps.

Step 7Simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. Add meatballs and simmer 5 more minutes.
