Ingredients
- 2 racks pork spareribs (approx. 4 pounds)
- 1 cup catsup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/3 - 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons dry sherry
- 1 clove garlic, minced
How To Make chinese-style bbq'd spareribs
-
Step 1Trim excess fat from spareribs. Place the ribs in a large baking dish. Set ribs aside while you make the marinade.
-
Step 2Place remaining ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Spoon the mixture over the spareribs on both sides to evenly coat. Cover baking dish with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator overnight. If possible, turn the ribs and brush them with the marinade several times during refrigeration time.
-
Step 3Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Uncover and place the baking dish on the center rack and roast for 1 1/2 hours, turning ribs and basting them frequently with marinade. When done, remove pan from oven and transfer one rack to a wooden cutting board.
-
Step 4Cut each rack of ribs into serving-size pieces and repeat with remaining racks. You may refrigerate and later re-heat the ribs or serve them immediately.
