I have had a crookpot of these for every Christmas Eve for many years. My boys all insist. Other dishes change but this is always there. Sometimes after all the hotdogs are gone, I save the sauce and the next day or so I add more hotdogs and have some more when the kids stop by. Most all of the alcohol cooks out of them so they don't have that much in them.

Ingredients For bourbon hot dogs

  • 1 bottle
    14 oz. catsup
  • 1 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 1 c
  • 2 lb
    beef hot dogs or beef cocktail weenies

How To Make bourbon hot dogs

    Mix everything except hot dogs into a large saucepan or crockpot.

    Cover and simmer for 2 hours

    Cut hotdogs into slices and add at last 15 minuts at the end or until hot.

    Serve with slotted spoon
