Perfect for tailgating, holiday parties, and any occasion you might be wanting to take something a little more impressive.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces can whole water chestnuts, drained
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 8 slices bacon

How To Make bacon wrapped water chestnuts

  • Step 1
    Marinate the water chestnuts in soy sauce for 1 hr. Then drain.
  • Step 2
    Roll each chestnut in a 1/4 c. brown sugar making sure to coat well. Reserve the other 1/4 c. brown sugar to end before baking.
  • Step 3
    Wrap each chestnut with 1/2 slice of bacon. Secure with a tooth pick.
  • Step 4
    Arrange on a cake rack in a shallow baking pan. Cover tops of chestnuts with remaining 1/4 c. of brown sugar.
  • Step 5
    Bake at 400 degrees F for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Step 6
    Drain on paper towels.
  • Step 7
    ** This can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until ready to bake.
