Ingredients
- 1 package sliced bacon
- 2 packages bread sticks (6 inch, hard, prepackaged)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
How To Make bacon pops
-
Step 1Mix brown sugar and chili powder together on a plate, making sure there are no lumps.
-
Step 2Slice entire package of bacon in half. Wrap one piece of bacon around a bread stick, leaving a handle at the end, and then roll in brown sugar mixture. Repeat for all. You may need to mix more brown sugar and chili powder, but do this only as needed, as it can absorb some of the moisture from the bacon and get too sticky to use for rolling.
-
Step 3Place on a rack in a foil-lined roasting pan (to allow bacon to drain as it cooks) and bake at 350 for about 15 minutes or until bacon is done. Keep an eye on them though - overbaking will cause the sugar to burn. Serve warm.
-
Step 4Note: You may need more than 2 packages of the breadsticks. This will depend on the size and number of slices in your package of bacon, and the number of breadsticks in each package. I've found them at local stores, but the package counts tend to vary.
