Bacon Pops on a Stick w/ Old Bay Maple Glaze

Peggy Sue Ross

You will need to have the butcher cut the bacon very thick to support being on the stick. Use a smoker to slowly turn the pops into perfection. The sweet and spicy Old Bay Maple Glaze tops them off at the very end. They will be messy, but oh, so good!

How to Make Bacon Pops on a Stick w/ Old Bay Maple Glaze

  1. For glaze: combine maple syrup, Old Bay seasoning and pinch of ground red pepper, stir well and set aside.
  2. Skewer your bacon pops with metal or wooden skewers. If using wood, pre-soak for 30 minutes in water.
  3. Using flat griddle, sear each pop for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Using smoker, smoke for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  5. After smoking, dip each pop into the maple glaze and grill for about 30 seconds to one minute to carmalize maple glaze.
  6. Serve extra maple glaze for dipping.
