I made these wonderful little bites, last year just about this time.....APPLE SEASON! 10/23/2011
I thank my ex CHGO. neighbor Ann for this recipe..
Apple fritters are delicious, and good to make any time of the year.
These will go fast...
Be prepared to make more!

Ingredients

  • 1
    egg beaten
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 c
    finely chopped or grated unpeeled apple
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    grated orange peel
  • 3 Tbsp
    orange juice
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • ·
    vegetable oil for frying
  • ·
    powdered sugar

How to Make APPLE FRITTERS Deep Fried

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine beaten egg, milk, apple, sugar, salt, orange peel, juice, and vanilla. Mix.
    Stir together flour, and baking powder.
    Fold into egg mixture, stirring just till moistened.
  2. In a deep fat fryer heat oil to 350. Drop by rounded teaspoons . Fry until a deep golden brown about 3-4 minutes. Turning once.
    Drain fritters thoroughly on paper towels..
    Dust with powdered sugar.
