It is funny how things happen at times..I had talked to my sister a week ago and she was telling me about a wonderful dip she had just had at a party, and that it was like a reuben sandwich but as a dip. She was mailing me the recipe (she lives in Escanaba, Mi)...but, lo and behold Kraft sent it to me today in my email...so I got it before my sister could send it to me. My sister said it is deliciosoooo good, and, I believe her... As of January 8, 2012 the photo is of my finished and HALF eaten spread...lol

prep time
cook time
method ---
yield 20 (2T. servings)

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces philly cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup thousand island dressing (they suggest kraft)
  • 1/4 pound sliced deli corned beef, chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 3/4 - well drained sauerkraut, they suggest claussen
  • 1 package 8 ounces swiss cheese slices (chopped)
  • - triscuits, or crackers of choice

How To Make warm reuben spread

  • Step 1
Heat oven to 350 F. Mix cream cheese and dressing in medium bowl; stir in all remaining ingredients except crackers. Spread onto bottom of a 9-inch pie plate or shallow dish. Bake for 20 minutes or until heated through. Serve warm with crackers.
  • Step 2
This can also be made in microwave....Assemble dip as directed in shallow microwaveable dish about 2-3 minutes or until heated through. Serve as directed.
  • Step 3
My suggestion: You could also use Rye or pumpernickel party bread and spread dip on one side...yummo Plus I would have no problem doubling this recipe...!!
