Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups shredded montery jack cheese
  • 1 cup chopped fresh jalapeno
  • 1 cup chopped pickled jalapenos
  • 1 cup chopped red or green bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk (regular milk works ok, too)
  • 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • - vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 scoop ranch dressing, for dipping
  • 1 scoop cajun horseradish sauce, for dipping (optional)

How To Make texas roadhouse rattlesnake bites

  • Step 1
    In a shallow bowl, mix well cheese, jalapenos, bell peppers and 1/2 cup buttermilk. Roll into a firm “golf ball-sized” balls.
  • Step 2
    Place bites in covered bowl and let set for 30 to 45 minutes in the freezer.
  • Step 3
    Take the balls out of the freezer and dip in buttermilk, then roll around in breadcrumbs. You can do this in advance and place them in the freezer until you are ready to fry them.
  • Step 4
    Heat oil in a deep-fryer or deep pan with high sides. Fry Rattlesnake Bites in hot oil until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
