Made with hamburger helper, this one is a cinch to make. found this one in my mom's old recipe files.

Ingredients

  • ·
    1 lb. ground beef
  • ·
    1 pkg. hamburger haleper mix for cheeseburger macaroni
  • ·
    3 1/3 cups hot water
  • ·
    2 to 3 tsp. chili powder 1 largeclove garlic, crushed
  • ·
    dash cayenne pepper, if desired
  • ·
    6 cups shre4dded lettuce
  • ·
    1 medium green pepper, chopped, about 1 cup
  • ·
    2 medium tomatoes, chopped, about 1 1/2 cups
  • ·
    1/3 cup sliced green onions, with tops
  • ·
    1/4 cup sliced pitted ripe olives

How to Make Taco Salad

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook and stir ground beef in large skillet til brown; drain. Stir in macaroni, sauce mix, water, chili powder, garlic and cayenne pepper. Heat to boiling. Stir constantly. Reduce heat; cover and simmer, stirring occasionally 15 minutes. uncover and cook 5 minute more. Cool 5 minutes.l Put lettuce, green pepper, tomatoes, onions and olives in large bowl; toss with ground beef mixture. Serve at once or if you wish, cover and refrigerate til chilled, at least 4 hours. Serve with sour cream if desired. Serves 6 to 8
