Whenever I go to the fair the longest line is always for mozzarella sticks. Here is an easy and fun way to get them at home.

Ingredients

  • 8 sticks good quality firm mozzarella
  • 1 package eggroll wrappers ( found in most grocery stores )
  • 1 - egg
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 jar good quality marinara sauce
  • 48 ounces vegetable oil for frying

How To Make state fair mozzarella sticks

  • Step 1
    Heat oil in fryer to 350
  • Step 2
    Mix egg and water for egg wash
  • Step 3
    Lay wrapper in a diamond shape( points should be facing up and down )Paint egg wash on the edges of top diamond.
  • Step 4
    Lay mozzarella stick across bottom half of wrapper,roll twice,fold in sides and roll again. This is the same as rolling an eggroll.(Be sure that there are no cracks or openings or cheese will run out.)
  • Step 5
    Deepfry sticks for about 1 1/2 min or until wrapper is golden brown and bubbling
  • Step 6
    Serve hot with your favorite marinara sauce.
