spicy, savory jalapeno poppers
These poppers are always popular snack at football games or neighborhood get-togethers. I always remove the seeds and ribs because you never know how hot the jalapenos will be. Sometimes it doesn't make a difference. LOL

- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons salsa
- 7 slices bacon
- - barbecue sauce
- - sour cream
How To Make spicy, savory jalapeno poppers
-
Step 1Place the bacon on a large cookie sheet lined with foil. Place in a 375° oven until some of the fat has been rendered out.
-
Step 2Wash the peppers and cut in half. Scrape out the seeds and ribs.
-
Step 3Combine the cream cheese, salsa and cheddar cheese. Fill each jalapeno half with this mixture.
-
Step 4Cut each piece of bacon into three pieces and place a piece of bacon on each pepper
-
Step 5Once the bacon starts to crisp start basting with your favorite barbeque sauce. This will depend upon your oven and bacon and could take 15-20 minutes or more.
-
Step 6Serve with sides of sour cream (for cooling in case the poppers are too spicy) and a little extra barbeque sauce.
