smokey orange pinwheels

This was made for our first challenge for "The Power of Orange" group. An appetizer with some type of orange. So, they are not your typical pinwheels but they are full of flavor. These have a cool orange taste with the afterwards smokey flavor of the chipotle. Also, a great chewy texture of the coconut, pineapple and pecans.

Ingredients

  • 2 - 3 large flour tortillas
  • 1 package 8 ounce softened cream cheese
  • 4 teaspoons chipotle sauce
  • 3 tablespoons orange marmalade
  • 1 medium zest of one orange
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 3 tablespoons coconut
  • 2 tablespoons drained, crushed pineapple
  • 2 teaspoons tang drink mix (optional) i used for color and tang flavor
  • 4 tablespoons chopped pecans (optional)

How To Make smokey orange pinwheels

  • Step 1
    Gather all your ingredients
  • Step 2
    Mix all your ingredients together; spread evenly over the tortilla. medium thickness so that you can roll up the tortilla. Then, refrigerate for 2 hrs or overnight. Wrap tightly with plastic wrap.
  • Step 3
    Take out of refrigerator and cut into slices. Sprinkle some orange zest and a little cayenne on top if you want.
