unsliced round loaf sourdough bread
1/2 lb
monterey jack cheese, sliced
1/2 c
butter or margarine, melted
1/2 c
chopped green onions
2-3 tsp
poppy seeds

How to Make Savory Party Bread


  • 1Cut the bread lengthwise and crosswise without cutting through the bottom crust. Make squares about 3/4 inch each. Insert cheese between cuts.
  • 2Combine butter, onions and poppy seeds; drizzle over the bread.
  • 3Wrap in foil; place on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Uncover; bake 10 minutes longer or until the cheese is melted.
