I make this for the Holidays, served with toasted Baguette slices, or whole grain crackers, it's a big hit!!!

Ingredients

  • 2 packages (8 oz each) philly brand cream cheese, room temp.
  • 1 1/2-2 cups good quality smoked salmon, flaked
  • 3 teaspoons dried chives or fresh
  • 2-3 teaspoons dried parsley or fresh
  • 1/4 cup finely minced (sweet) red onion
  • 2 Lg cloves finely minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed or fresh
  • 1/2 cup - finely minced canned black olives, drain well
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
  • 1 cup walnuts (finely chopped & toasted)

How To Make sandy's sassy salmon cheeseball

  • Step 1
    place room temp. cream cheese in large bowl,add dill, chives, parsley, black pepper, mix to incorporate spices, add onion, garlic ,olives &salmon , mix well.
  • Step 2
    form into ball or log and roll in chopped toasted walnuts or slivered almonds.Wrap in plastic wrap and chill in fridge for 2 hrs.Serve with grilled / toasted baguette or whole grain crackers.
  • Step 3
    can substitute chopped green onion for the red onions, also can roll in grated med. cheddar cheese & garnish with lemon slices & fresh dill or green onion or capers. Enjoy
