The sweet and spicy flavor makes a "can't eat just one" appetizer. You can double the amout of red pepper flakes for a zipper bite.

Ingredients

  • 2 - red bell peppers, chopped
  • 1 - sweet onion, chopped
  • 3/4 cup white wine vinegar
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon red pepper flakes

How To Make red pepper appetizer

  • Step 1
    Put all ingredients into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Lower heat and cook at least 1/2 hour to reduce. Drain liquid and refrigerate for 4 hours, or better, overnight. Spread softened cream cheese in a 9 inch pie plate shaped serving dish, pour red pepper mixture over cream cheese. Refrigerate. Take out of fridge 30 minutes before serving to soften crea, cheese. Serve with Wheat Thins.
  • Step 2
    Right before serving. I like to stand my wheat thins in the cream cheese to form points, easy to grab and dip. Makes a nice presentation.
