puff pastry cheese tray
- one large egg and 2 teaspoons water
- one thawed puff pastry sheet from a 17 ounce package
Strips each 1/2 inch wide, from one side of pastry, cutting parallel to seam of pastry. Place pastry strips along outer edges of pastry overlapping and trimming ends of strips as needed. Prick bottom of pastry generously with a fork. Sprinkle bottom of pastry with 1 teaspoon of your favorite seasoning blend. If desired, gently press fresh herbs sprigs onto bottom of pastry. Bake for six minutes. Prick bottom of pastry generously with fork again to prevent center from rising. Bake six more minutes or until lightly browned. Let cool on pan two minutes. Transfer to a wire rack, and let cool 45 minutes or until completely cool. Makes one tray.
