Impress your guests with the name and the presentation of this peppery Brie en croute. No need to let on how easy it is to make. With a kick, this cheesy appetizer is not for the faint of heart. Savory, buttery Brie is baked inside flaky crescent dough with a green jalapeno pepper sauce that soaks through the cheese. Serve with crackers for an appetizer no one will be able to stop eating.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cresent roll dough
  • 8 ounces Brie, rind removed
  • 2 tablespoons Tabasco green pepper sauce
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • - crackers

How To Make peppery brie en croute

  • Work dough in a circle large enough to cover the Brie.
    Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Work the crescent dough into a thin circle large enough to completely wrap the Brie.
  • Place cheese in the center of the dough and prick with a fork.
    Step 2
    Place cheese in the center of the dough circle. Prick the top of the cheese several times with a fork.
  • Pour 1 Tbsp of Tabasco sauce over the cheese.
    Step 3
    Slowly pour 1 Tbsp of Tabasco over the top of the cheese. Let it stand briefly so the cheese absorbs the sauce.
  • Add the remaining Tabasco sauce.
    Step 4
    Add the remaining tablespoon of Tabasco sauce pricking cheese several more times with a fork. Some sauce will run over the side of the cheese.
  • Bring the crescent dough around the cheese.
    Step 5
    Bring the edges of the dough over the top of the cheese working it together to completely cover the cheese.
  • Brush with a beaten egg.
    Step 6
    Brush edges with beaten egg and seal.
  • Bake for 10 minutes.
    Step 7
    Bake for about 10 minutes. Be careful not to overbake as the cheese will run. Serve immediately with crackers.
