Many years ago, someone in the family collected recipes from descendants of my great grandparents, William M. and Florence E. (Snodgrass) Whaley and had them compiled into a cookbook. I am posting those recipes here so that they will not be lost. This recipe was submitted by my mother, Betty Pruitt.

Ingredients
- 16 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 tablespoon chopped pimento
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped bell pepper
- 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
- 1 dash hot sauce (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- - assorted crackers
How To Make party cheese ball

Step 1Mix cheeses in a medium bowl until well blended

Step 2Add pimento, bell pepper, Worcestershire sauce, onion and hot sauce (if using it). Mix well.

Step 3Chill in refrigerator until firm enough to shape.

Step 4Shape into a ball and roll in chopped pecans.

Step 5Serve with crackers.
