Many years ago, someone in the family collected recipes from descendants of my great grandparents, William M. and Florence E. (Snodgrass) Whaley and had them compiled into a cookbook. I am posting those recipes here so that they will not be lost. This recipe was submitted by my mother, Betty Pruitt.

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

  • 16 oz
    cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 8 oz
    sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 Tbsp
    chopped pimento
  • 1 Tbsp
    finely chopped bell pepper
  • 2 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    finely chopped onion
  • 1 dash(es)
    hot sauce (optional)
  • 1/2 c
    chopped pecans
  • ·
    assorted crackers

How to Make Party Cheese Ball

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix cheeses in a medium bowl until well blended
  2. Add pimento, bell pepper, Worcestershire sauce, onion and hot sauce (if using it). Mix well.
  3. Chill in refrigerator until firm enough to shape.
  4. Shape into a ball and roll in chopped pecans.
  5. Serve with crackers.
