Ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    finely chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 tsp
    cornstarch
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 2 c
    monterey jack-colby cheese blend, shredded
  • 1 pkg
    3 oz, cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c
    salsa, chunky
  • 1 can(s)
    4 oz, chopped green chilies
  • ·
    dash hot pepper sauce
  • ·
    chips for serving

How to Make Mexican Cheese Dip

Step-by-Step

  1. In 1 1/2 quart round microwavable casserole dish, combine onion and butter. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes or until onion is tender.
  2. Stir in cornstarch and milk. Microwave at high for 2-3 minutes or until thickened, stirring once.
  3. Add shredded cheese, cream cheese, salsa, chilies, and hot pepper sauce. Microwave on high for 2-4 minutes, or until cheeses are melted, stirring once to blend thoroughly. Serve with taco chips.
