How To Make maple brie and apples
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350F. Core and thinly slice the 2 apples. Set aside for later use.
-
Step 2Place brie in a ceramic "brie-baker" or ovenproof container. Bake for about 15 mins. or until warm and soft, but not runny.
-
Step 3THE SAUCE: In a small saucepan, stir together brown sugar, maple syrup and brandy or rum. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve brown sugar. Reduce heat under saucepan and simmer uncovered, about 5 mins until slightly thickened.
-
Step 4Stir in chopped walnuts. Remove from heat, set aside and keep warm.
-
Step 5THE BAGUETTE: Cut baguette into 20 X 1/2 inch thick slices. Brush one side of each slice with melted butter; sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Increase oven temperature to 425F. Arrange prepared baguette slices on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 6 - 8 minutes, or until slices are crisp and browned lightly. Remove from oven and arrange on your serving platter.
-
Step 6Pour syrup mixture over softened brie and serve with cinnamon crostini and apple slices.
