this is a very old recipe,a family member gave to me,they are so good with a cheese ball.you do have to have a special iron to make these,or you could use the italian irons for pizzles for this.

Ingredients
- 1 pound butter,use real butter
- 2 1/2 cups white sugar
- 6 - eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 4-5 cups flour
- 1 - shot of whiskey or rum
How To Make lukens [belgiun] wafers

Step 1cream butter and sugar together.ad beaten eggs to this,and vanilla.add the whiskey,and then start adding the flour.fold the flour in,and mix well.refrigerate this for around 2 hours for the flavors mix.then roll into balls.you will have to have a luken iron from a speciality shop,or you could use a pizzele iron,and place balls in the iron and cook .make sure the grid is hot first.before each luken is made.

Step 2these are great with cheese balls,very different,a little long to make,but,it makes alot of them,and they store well in an airtight container.
