Thought I made this up, LOL. But after I made, I searched the internet and found others have made. Only thing that makes mine different is I went with a beer cheese. Beer and pretzels belong together ;) I made these vegetarian but of course they would be great with a nice chili sauce. ENJOY!!!!

Blue Ribbon Recipe

If you're a fan of German beer, then you will love this beer cheese sauce drizzled over soft baked pretzels. There's a light mustard flavor that goes perfectly with the soft pretzels. It's like being at a football stadium and combining your favorite snacks together. A fun twist on typical nachos. Just make sure to serve these immediately while they're nice and hot.

How To Make game day beer pretzchos

  • Combining cheeses and flour in a bowl.
For cheese sauce, combine cheeses in bowl with flour.
  • Pouring beer into a saucepan.
Place beer in a small pot. Bring up to bubble on medium heat.
  • Adding cheese to the simmering beer.
Reduce heat to a simmer, adding cheeses in handfuls.
  • Stirring until cheese is melted.
    Stir constantly until melted.
  • Adding hot sauce to melted cheese.
When melted add hot sauce, mustard, and Worcestershire. This is a beer cheese recipe I have for fondue, use whatever cheese you like. For a quicker version, there are many good jar nacho cheeses.
  • Pretzels on a baking dish.
Warm pretzels as per directions on package. Oven method works the best for these.
  • Adding salt to the pretzels.
Don't forget to top with the extra pretzel salt they give you with the pretzels. ;)
  • Pouring beer cheese over pretzels.
Place pretzels on a large plate. Pour cheese over, then top with rest of the topping ingredients and serve!
